Wednesdays@Noon: Using the Drexel Archives for University Marketing & Outreach Online

Are you looking for an attention-grabbing image for a social media campaign? Want a unique way to commemorate an important department or college anniversary? Researching a specific alumnus or alumna? Want help fact-checking historical information about the University, such as the date of a building's construction or the year Drexel granted its first PhD? 

Learn how the Drexel University Archives can help staff across all of Drexel’s colleges and departments with inquiries like these.

During the webinar, Archives Technician Simon Ragovin and University Archivist Matthew Lyons will provide a brief overview of the University Archives, with a focus on collections that have the potential to support University outreach efforts. They'll also provide tips and guidelines to foster successful collaborations with University Archives staff.   

During this session, you will learn about:

  • What the University Archives is and why it matters
  • The variety and range of material in the Drexel University Archives collections
  • Unique ways to utilize Drexel University Archival materials in outreach campaigns for a variety of audiences

Who should attend: Drexel staff involved in outreach/PR such as University Communications and Alumni Relations

The Drexel University Libraries' (DUL) presents Wednesdays@Noon, a regularly scheduled series of 30-minute webinars that connect Drexel researchers, faculty, staff, and students with the Libraries’ expertise, tools, resources, and services.

Wednesdays@Noon brings together expert Libraries staff and members of the Drexel community for training sessions and discussions. These will include instructional sessions that guide effective use of the Libraries’ tools and systems, awareness sessions that promote DUL’s authoritative information resources and how to incorporate them in coursework and research, and practical sessions that share best practices to support Drexel Dragons in their work to create and shape future scholarship.

Wednesdays@Noon webinars are held at 12 p.m. on Wednesdays throughout the academic year. Sessions are open to all Drexel faculty, students and staff. Sessions will be recorded and posted on the Libraries’ YouTube page for anyone who cannot attend the live events.
