Winter ScholarSip featuring Sharrelle Barber
Celebrate 10 years of ScholarSip with 10 events running through June 2022.
From climate change and sustainability to racial inequities and health to data privacy, the 2021/2022 ScholarSip series will feature “food for thought” presentations by Drexel faculty, staff, and students across all disciplines. Join the Drexel Libraries and fellow Dragons as we exchange ideas and foster interdisciplinary research and collaboration. The list of webinars will be posted on our Events Calendar as they are scheduled.
This term, we are excited to welcome guest speaker
Sharelle Barber, ScD, MPH
Inaugural Director of The Ubuntu Center on Racism, Global Movements, and Population Health Equity
Assistant Professor of Epidemiology & Biostatistics
Dornsife School of Public Health
Professor Barber will lead a discussion on her current research that focuses on the intersection of place, race, and health in the United States and Brazil.
We will announce a location for the event over the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
All Drexel faculty, professional staff, students, alumni and members of the public are invited to attend these FREE lively conversations with members of the Drexel community.
Although free, registration is required for all events. We plan for sessions to be held virtually and in person whenever possible. All sessions will be recorded and posted on the Libraries’ YouTube page.
Now in its 10th year, ScholarSip is an annual event series hosted by the Drexel University Libraries that seeks to nurture Drexel’s intellectual life and cross-campus community through informal gatherings where faculty and professional staff exchange ideas sparked by greater awareness of interdisciplinary research. Each event includes social time to build acquaintances and a short “food for thought” presentation from a member of the Drexel community. ScholarSip provides an opportunity for members of the Drexel community to gather for conversation – along with a toast to the end of the academic term.
