Event
Spring ScholarSip Online
Learn how Drexel researchers systematically explored issues related to the outbreak of COVID-19 during the Libraries’ 2020/2021 ScholarSip event series.
Each (virtual) ScholarSip event will address the theme Responding to COVID-19 through Research and Scientific Problem Solving. Distinguished Drexel researchers will offer “food for thought” on COVID-19 research topics and how they have responded to the pandemic both through original research and through adapting existing procedures to address its effects on various communities. Hear from trusted experts in fields such as health management and policy, public health, infectious disease, epidemiology, and nutrition sciences.
This term, we are excited to welcome guest speaker
Christopher Sales, PhD
Associate Professor
Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering
Drexel University's College of Engineering
During his session, Professor Sales will discuss a new partnership between Drexel University and SEPTA (the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority). The two organizations are working together to enhance efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on public transportation, which includes research on risk assessment, mitigation and communication strategies that will help keep riders safe and healthy.
All Drexel faculty, professional staff, students and members of the public are invited to join us remotely for what promises to be a lively conversation with colleagues.
Please note that registration is required. All registrants will receive an email with the Zoom link and password on the day of the event.
About ScholarSip
Now in its ninth year, ScholarSip is an annual event series hosted by the Drexel University Libraries that seeks to nurture Drexel’s intellectual life and cross-campus community through informal gatherings where faculty and professional staff exchange ideas sparked by greater awareness of interdisciplinary research. Each event includes social time to build acquaintances and a short “food for thought” presentation from a member of the Drexel community. ScholarSip provides an opportunity for members of the Drexel community to gather for conversation – along with a toast to the end of the academic term.
