Building Connections to Scholarship: How To Make Drexel Yearbooks Work For You

Yearbooks are fascinating time capsules that can be used for so much more than verifying that someone attended a college. Join Drexel University Archives’ Digital Archivist for a focused look at these print resources that will leave you with new ideas about how to incorporate them into your classroom or research. Come for the history, stay for the hairstyles.

Who should attend: Any students, faculty, or staff interested in using university yearbooks as historical sources, either for assignments or in their own research or creative projects.

Presented by: Sarah Newhouse, Digital Archivist

Recorded sessions: If you can’t attend a live webinar, don’t worry! We will provide a link to the webinar recording following the event.

About the Building Connections to Scholarship Webinar Series:

Highly active research universities are dependent on strong connections to scholarship and research data output. At Drexel, the Libraries provides a variety of resources, support services and partnerships to facilitate and build such connections, from ensuring access to authoritative information to shaping future research by providing—and guiding the effective use of—tools and systems to facilitate global connections to Drexel-generated research output.

Through the Libraries new Connecting to Scholarship webinar series, expert librarians share their knowledge of these tools and systems to support Drexel faculty and researchers’ productivity and to prepare graduate students and professional staff for successful research practices.

Designed for anyone who does research, webinars in the series will address issues such as:

  • How to find funding through the Pivot database
  • How to navigate changes to the APA Style Guide 7th edition
  • How to choose a repository for your research
  • Using Sage Research Methods to demystify social science research
  • What’s new in PubMed
  • Navigating archival research and archives
  • and more
