Building Connections to Scholarship: What's New in the APA 7th Edition

Learn about the recent changes and updates to the APA’s infamous style guide.

APA Style, developed by the American Psychological Association, is used by writers for concise, powerful and persuasive scholarly communication. The APA has made long-awaited changes to its citation style.  If you haven’t made the switch or need a refresher, here’s a quick overview of the differences between the 6th and 7th edition of their style manual. Drexel's expert librarians will also highlight free APA resources including the APA website and APA blog.

This webinar is being offered in conjunction with Drexel CNHP’s Tuesday Topics event series.

Who should attend: All are welcome! This session is ideal for Drexel faculty, researchers, staff, and students who use the APA style guide or want to learn more about it.

Presented by: Janice Masud-Paul, Librarian, Health Sciences

Recorded sessions: If you can’t attend a live webinar, don’t worry! We will provide a link to the webinar recording following the event.

About the Building Connections to Scholarship Webinar Series:

Highly active research universities are dependent on strong connections to scholarship and research data output. At Drexel, the Libraries provides a variety of resources, support services and partnerships to facilitate and build such connections, from ensuring access to authoritative information to shaping future research by providing—and guiding the effective use of—tools and systems to facilitate global connections to Drexel-generated research output.

Through the Libraries new Connecting to Scholarship webinar series, expert librarians share their knowledge of these tools and systems to support Drexel faculty and researchers’ productivity and to prepare graduate students and professional staff for successful research practices.

Designed for anyone who does research, webinars in the series will address issues such as:

  • How to find funding through the Pivot database

  • How to navigate changes to the APA Style Guide 7th edition

  • How to choose a repository for your research

  • Using Sage Research Methods to demystify social science research
