SUMMARY:AIDS\, Posters\, and Stories of Public Health: A People’s History of a Pandemic Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:This winter\, the Drexel University Libraries and Drexel's 
 College of Nursing & Health Professions are excited to host the National 
 Library of Medicine’s traveling exhibit\, AIDS\, Posters and Stories of 
 Public Health: A People’s History of a Pandemic.\n\nThe exhibit features 
 selections from the Library of Medicine’s archive of public health 
 posters and explores how AIDS posters serve as highly adaptable\, durable\, 
 cost effective\, efficient tools in sharing public health messaging. 
 Created by communities bonded together by illness and a desire to make 
 change\, these posters provide a gateway to AIDS history\, illustrating 
 how\, in the face of illness\, neglect\, and\, early on\, the unknown\, 
 people came together to connect\, create\, and save one another's lives. 
 \n\nThe exhibit will be on display in the lobby of the Health Sciences 
 Building (located at 36th & Filbert Streets) from February 12 - March 22\,

 information.\n\nThe National Library of Medicine produced this exhibition 
 and companion website.\n\n\nThe exhibit is FREE and open to all members of 
 the Drexel community and the general public. \n\nPublic viewing hours: 
 Monday through Friday\, 10am to 2pm. \n\nDrexel viewing hours: Drexel 
 students\, faculty\, and staff with a current Drexel ID may view the 
 exhibit whenever the building is open. \n\n\nRelated Events\n\nWe hope you

 the National Library of Medicine\n\nThe National Library of Medicine 
 (NLM)\, on the campus of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda\, 
 Maryland\, has been a center of information innovation since its founding 
 in 1836. The world’s largest biomedical library\, NLM maintains and makes 
 available a vast print collection and produces electronic information 
 resources on a wide range of topics that are searched billions of times 
 each year by millions of people around the globe. It also supports and 
 conducts research\, development\, and training in biomedical informatics 
 and health information technology. In addition\, the Library coordinates a 
 6\,000-member National Network of Libraries of Medicine that promotes and 
 provides access to health information in communities across the United 
 States.\n
