Event

Drexel University and Urban Renewal in the 1970s

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Drexel students were involved in activism regarding the University's expansion into Powelton Village. Material from the Drexel University Archives’ collections documents the different activities and perspectives of Drexel University, its students, and the community during that time.

Join University Archives staff and explore some of this archival material, including copies of both The Triangle, Drexel’s student-run newspaper, and The Lexerd student yearbooks that feature photos of Powelton Village and past student sit-ins; campus maps, and other items from this period.

Archives staff will be available to guide discovery and use of materials in archives for research and coursework and to answer questions about the University Archives collections.
