ScholarSip

Celebrate the last day of classes and join informal cross-disciplinary conversations with Drexel faculty and professional staff over drinks and refreshments at this quarter's ScholarSip event.

David Gefen, PhD, will provide a brief presentation titled "Some Aspects of Trust and the Online Economy." Trust is a key aspect of social life as well as of economic activity. Building on this importance of trust to social activity, Gefen will discuss its importance in ecommerce - leading to the importance of institutions advancing a trusting environment. What happens when trust is broken is then discussed, supported by neuroimaging research. The consequences of building trust are then shown in a software projects outsourcing site.

Recently, Gefen researched the on the role of music in building trust and how the music can affect trust, purchasing decisions and relationships.

David Gefen is the Provost Distinguished Research Professor at Lebow College of Business. He was recognized at the Libraries Celebrating Authors Event in 2014 for his book, the Psychology of Trust.
