Hagerty, Drexel, and Philadelphia: The Life and Legacy of President William Walsh Hagerty

In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the birth of former president William Walsh Hagerty the Libraries will host a celebratory event on Friday, June 10, 2016. Dr. Hagerty was a transformative president, who guided the Drexel Institute through the initial steps toward becoming a comprehensive research university.

During the event, Richardson Dilworth, a co-editor of the upcoming book on Drexel history, will provide a talk about Dr. Hagerty’s impact on the University. His talk will place Dr. Hagerty’s presidency in the larger context of Drexel history and highlight his lasting legacy at the university and in Philadelphia.

At this event, the Libraries will unveil a Cake Boss cake in the shape of the W. W. Hagerty Library building. Cake will be served at the conclusion of the talk.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Jenny James Lee at 215.895.2750.
